This two storey basement is a proposed addition to a house in Knightsbridge, providing an additional 1450 sq. feet (135 sq. M). It will house a playroom, gym and laundry room on the first level, and a media room on the lower level. Because the building is listed, great care was required to minimise any alteration to the existing structure and to nearby trees, in terms of both design and construction. The basement sits under the existing garden hidden from view, leaving sufficient soil above for a generously planted garden.
